RIVCHPP Begins 2025 With Gratitude To God, Focused On Adaptable, Commitments Towards The Realization Of Agency Mission

Staff and team members of Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) have been thanking and expressing gratitude to God Almighty for His benevolence and care which saw them through the hurdles of not just establishing a functional agency but who also made it possible for the new agency to positively touch lives and address health issues of Rivers residents throughout 2024.

The thanksgiving session, which preceded the first management meeting of the agency , was used to express gratitude for the successes of 2024 and to pray for greater achievements in 2025 for Governor Siminialayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, and RIVCHPP and the state government in touching lives of Rivers residents.

Addressing the management team, the Acting Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr Vetty Agala, urged every team member of the agency to be more focused, adaptable to current realities, and be committed towards the realisation of the missions, and visions of the agency.

Dr. Agala also expressed gratitude and appreciation to everyone who supported the agency in its 2024 attainment , including the governor of state, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Deputy Governor, and UHC Advocate for the state, Prof Ngozi Nma Odu, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, the different categories of staff and team members, and various stakeholders for their sacrifices and tireless efforts and dedication to RIVCHPP mandate, saying that their hardwork and sacrifice have been instrumental to stimulating and driving the progress of the agency.

The Acting Executive then announced that RIVCHPP made significant strides in expanding access to healthcare, improving health outcomes, and promoting financial protection for over 67,000 beneficiaries of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund of the agency, saying that the feat so achieved is a testament of the collective commitment towards the mission and vision of the agency.

Dr. Agala riled out the 2025 cardinal and strategic priorities and objectives that would be the agency’s focus to include scaling up on the services the agency rendered to the people by ensuring that more families and individuals have access to quality health care services without straining themselves to pay for the health services through the various plans of the agency especially the SimJara for informal sector and the formal sector plans.

RIVCHPP’S boss also reiterated that improving service delivery by prioritising quality and efficient service delivery to the residents of the state towards achieving better health outcomes is another strategic plan of the agency for 2025.

Dr.Agala also said that RIVCHPP, in 2025, would invest in the capacity development of its staff, even as it takes into cognizance the upgrading of its systems and processes to ensure that the staff are well equipped to deliver on the agency’s mandate, as the agency also looks forward to enhanced stakeholders engagements to ensure that health care in the state are effective.

The staff, who appreciated the Executive Secretary, Dr Vetty Agala and the Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, for their doggedness, effective leadership styles, and proactive approach in making health insurance in the state to become an household priority, pledged to continue to do their best in realising the mandate of RIVCHPP.
