Rivers LGA Pensioners Decry Bottleneck Integrations Into Mainstream State Pension Board

Pensioners drawn from the 23 Local Government Areas in Rivers state says they are working tirelessly to remove the bottleneck associated with integration of local government Pensioners into the state mainstream pension.

The chairman of LGA branch of NUP Chris Enwudor stated this shortly after he emerged as elected chairman of the local branch said the Pensioners who retired from the local government level find it difficult to access their pensions and are made to travel distance to get themselves integrated into the mainstream pension.

He said he would work assiduously to ensure that senior citizens do not go through rigorous process of traveling from various LGA to undergo biometrics at the center

Also speaking at the sidelines of the local government Pensioners elections, the Eleco chairman for Pensioners, Dr Edwin Ordu expressed Joy at the turnout of the delegates.
He said this is the first time, they have actually conducting elections as retired LGA Pensioners because some powers within the union have always appointed who gets what as a leader

Correspondent Anita Ogona reports that other positions contested  for and officials elected include secretary, treasurer, Trustees, Ex-officio and Vice chairmanship positions.
