Rivers LGA Poll: PDP Chairmanship Aspirant- Shedrack Ogbogu Excited About Voters Turnout Hail In ONELGA, Peaceful, Orderly Elections.

The local government elections in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (ONELGA) saw enthusiastic participation as voters described the process as smooth and free of challenges. In Ward 9, Unit 07, Oboburu community, men and women lined up peacefully, with no intimidation or violence reported.

Voters were visibly excited about the orderly conduct of the exercise.

An elderly man said it was the first time he had seen an election where everyone behaved in an orderly manner, while a young woman added that she was “more than happy” to cast her vote, noting the absence of problems.

PDP chairmanship aspirant Chief Barrister Shedrack Chukwu Ogbogu, who also voted at the ward, expressed satisfaction with the turnout despite the late start in some areas. He explained that Oboburu community was among the last communities reached with materials and attributed differences in turnout across wards to Sabbath observance in the area.

Ogbogu commended the electoral bodies for conducting a credible exercise.

“RISEC is doing well. All the procedures are followed, and the election is free and fair. The same way it started is how it’s going to end,” he said.

He stressed that the process reflected the will of the people and gave room for fair competition.

Everybody is competing, all the parties are all around. Any person from here has a right to choose who will lead him,” he added.

By the close of voting, stakeholders agreed the election was peaceful, transparent, and a true reflection of ONELGA’s growing democratic culture.
