Rivers State Will Adopt AI Model For Planning, Improving Strategies For Service Delivery – Gov. Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has charged Nigerians to first think about the well-being of the country and her image.

Governor Fubara while receiving participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course 17 Syndicate 5 of the National Institute for Security Studies on Monday in Government House, noted that politics should not be an affair of unnecessary rivalry and bitterness as that could be destructive.

The governor emphasized that there is the need to work together as a team to build a successful nation, knowing that government is a continuum working for the common interest of the people rather than self.

“I want to appeal to everybody to stop this politics of bitterness, and play politics of friendship. Let us liken it to a game of football where somebody has to win and another loses and believes that there will be another tournament to reclaim the medal.”

He commended the Management of the National Institute for Security Studies and participants for choosing Rivers State for the continuation of their training as it will boost the image of the state as against some negative narratives, promising to tap into the policy recommendations of their findings after the exercise as it will assist his government to do better by relying on strong policies that are also futuristic.

“We want to be part of this success story, knowing that your success will rub off on our state. We will do everything within our powers to see that all the agencies that are in dire need of this model will look for a way to get in touch with you to share ideas and design policies that will help us advance the purpose of governance in our state.”

Governor Fubara assured that the state will continue to work with the Institute to support the policy structures in the state especially in adopting the Artificial Intelligence model for planning and improving strategies of service delivery in the state.

“You know we are a government that doesn’t believe in violence, even when we are being provoked on all sides. What we want to use to fight our battles is AI.”

Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Deputy Commandant, National Institute for Security Studies, Mr. D.E. Egbeji commended Governor Fubara as the first to accept the request of the Institute to host the participants, describing it as a sign of uncommon leadership.

He noted that the participants are in the state for one week to share ideas and evaluate security issues in line with the theme of this year’s course titled, Artificial Intelligence, Security and Emerging Economy in Africa: Challenges and Prospects, adding that they will review their findings and make presentations to the Institute at the end of their visit to the State which will help in policy formulation in resolving security challenges.
