Suspected Cultists Invade Compound In Mile 3 Diobu, Rob Female Students, Others

Suspected cultists on Wednesday morning,27th August,2025 invaded a compound at Ekwulobia Street,Mile 3 Diobu,PortHarcourt where they broke into the rooms of some occupants, two female students of a University in the area and robbed them of their phones,laptops,money and other valuables.

We learnt the suspected cultists reportedly led by one Graham,gained access into the compound through a window they broke at the back of the compound and removed the iron protector.

One of the victims David Eze in an interview said ” I live at the second floor upstairs. So around this early morning 4am,I actually did not hear any noise or anything but I woke up and found out that my phone,that is two phones and a system was missing .Immediately I stepped out just to try and raise alarm,because I know that the thing just happened because I was awake for a long time during the night.

“Also to found out that other tenants of the compound were robbed.Their rooms also broken into.For my own room, my door was torn with a knife and a hand was inside so they could open the lock.As they opened the lock with a knife,they took my system and two phones. Then coming down to raise alarm,I saw already security personnel outside and my co-tenants who were laying complaint.

A female victim,Chindinma in an interview said yesterday night around past 4,I heard a noise .I woke up. I saw a young guy standing beside the bed with a knife telling me not to shout,that if I scream he is going to stab me with the knife.I was scared,I was very afraid.I don’t know what is going on,it was like a dream,I don’t know.

“He said If I scream he is going to stab me, that there is one of our room mate that sent them that said they should come and kill us, that if we say anything he is going to stab us.

“That we should be watchful and mind where we go this time around.He took my phone and my brother’s phone,that is two phone he took from us and left”.

Our correspondent gathered that the hoodlums had broken into four rooms in the compound, carted away five handsets,one laptop and unspecified amount of money from the tenants before help came the tenant’s way.

We further learnt that the armed robbers abandoned two kitchen knives while they were chased by members of local vigilante who arrived the scene when the information filtered to them.
As at press time,the incident has been reported to Azikiwe Police Division,Illabouchi,Mile 2 Diobu.

Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command,SP Grace Iringe Koko was yet to respond to text message sent to her on enquiry into the incident.
