There Is So Much To Life After Retirement, Rivers CP, Others Pour Encomiums As 2iC Human Rights Bows Out Of Service

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu has said there is life after retirement from active service. CP Disu made the assertion in an event in honour of Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Bernard Okonkor who bows of active service Monday April 1,2024.

CP Olatunji Disu said “I know him too well, we have worked together. He worked with me when I was in SARS while he was in C41.He is a very wonderful officer. He worked well and is going on retirement.

“We are public target number one. You survived query, armed robbers did not kill you. You have done so well. There is life after retirement”.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration and Finance DCP Samuel Erale said “is not easy to serve thirty-five years. Be happy. It is a thing of joy and happiness”.

Also Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration, ACP Ireju Barasua said “DSP Okonkor is one of my product. All through I was PPRO he was with me. He has improved in what he used to do in the department. Be steadfast and hold on to God”.

SP Grace Iringe Koko, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command and immediate Boss of DSP Okonkor said ” he a person that loves his job .he does the job with passion. His always punctual, dedicated”

DSP Okonkor in his votes of thanks said “I am have been so dedicated to the job from a constable. I apologize to people who I have wronged unknowingly.

“In my department I am leaving, we have a lot to do. We should be objective and know the difference between Civil and criminal matters. I have taken the advice and counsel to myself. If there is anything I can still contribute to Police, I will do with joy.

“I thank the CP and other colleagues for honoring me’.

Our correspondent reports that Human Rights Activist, Journalists, friends commended DSP Okonkor. for his dedication and commitment towards his job.
