According to reports, the lifeless body of the restaurant owner was discovered at her home, situated opposite Awajil Filling Station in Dutse. Shockingly, her 11-year-old daughter was found unconscious in a locked storeroom within the premises.
The last sighting of the deceased was on February 12, 2024, raising suspicions among neighbors when attempts to contact her proved futile. Responding to the report, detectives from the Dutse Police Division swiftly took action and arrived at her residence on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Upon entering the locked house, they found the victim’s lifeless body in the sitting room, surrounded by a pool of blood. Visible cuts on her head and neck indicated a gruesome attack, and the body had already begun decomposing. The 11-year-old daughter, Christiana Michael, was discovered alive but with cuts on her head. Both victims were immediately rushed to Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital.
Unfortunately, the medical examination confirmed the mother’s death, and her corpse was transported to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) for autopsy. CP AT Abdullahi, after visiting Dutse General Hospital to oversee the condition of the injured daughter, instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Dutse, to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. The primary goal is to uncover the motive behind the killing and apprehend the fleeing culprits.
However, the Commissioner of Police in Jigawa State, CP AT Abdullahi, and his management team extended condolences during a visit to her family on Friday.
The Commissioner assured that anyone found culpable would face appropriate legal action, emphasizing a commitment to justice in the wake of this disturbing tragedy.
