Two Fast Raising Nollywood Actors Dies After Consuming Adulterated Drink While On A Set In Owerri

The Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning following the untimely deaths of a fast-rising actor, Evans, and the Director of Photography, Nnunu, on a movie set in Owerri, Imo State. The tragic incident reportedly happened on Good Friday. Veteran filmmaker Stanley Ontop shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram.

According to Ontop, the duo reportedly died after consuming drinks gifted to them by a movie director as a gesture of appreciation for their efforts on set.

The director was said to have been so happy with the successful execution of the day’s plan that he ordered for drinks for the entire crew members.

Part of the drinks brought was Calypso, which four of the crew members took copiously.

Shortly afterwards, four of the crew members went down complaining of stomach pain. The crew members reportedly dismissed it as a minor issue that could be fixed with first aid.

However, the issue got worse as two of the four became unconscious, leading to frantic efforts to rush the victims to a hospital.

It reportedly took a while to get a vehicle, which finally rushed the four who took the Calypso to FMC, Owerri.

Evans and Nnunu, however, did not make it to the hospital. They were reportedly confirmed dead on arrival.

The other two were placed on oxygen and are still fighting for their lives.

It is speculated that the drinks might have been adulterated or expired.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
