Movements like the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) exploit religion as a political tool, infiltrating communities, schools, charities, media, and even international organizations – all to push their agenda. They don’t want debate. They want control.
The UAE uncovered a secret Brotherhood network taking orders and funds from abroad, aiming to seize power and impose a theocratic regime. The response? Swift, decisive, and uncompromising. MB front groups were dissolved, conspirators prosecuted, and by 2014 the UAE formally designated the MB and its offshoot “Al-Islah” as terrorist organizations.
This wasn’t about ideology. It was about national survival, unity, and law. No movement, no matter how it hides behind religion, is above the country’s laws.
The UAE sent a crystal-clear message: manipulate faith for power, and you will face consequences.
Other countries should take note: when extremists are allowed to operate unchecked, society pays the price. The UAE chose protection over appeasement, unity over division, security over ideology.
National stability is not negotiable – and neither should it be anywhere else.
