Woji Youths Clash With Police: 2 Arrested Over Alleged Beaten Of Landlord To Death By Police

Residents of Woji has called for hep, following sporadic shooting that rented the air yesterday night, one of the resident who spoke to our correspondent under anonymity said the issues started since Saturday night not until the  video of a particular landlord  who was arrested by police was shared as dead person amongst his people who are indigenes of the area.

another source  who identified himself as Mr. Amadi said, It has to do with killing of Nyebuchi Eke allegedly by Police officers whose tenant called police to arrest him for allegedly throwing the tenant property outside, over alleged non payment of rents

He continued,  He said things turned awry when suddenly the body of the deceased was recovered in ChocoCho, Etche in an uncompleted building in a manner suggestive of the fact that Nyebuchi Eke younger brother to former Obio/Akpor LGA, chairman ,Solomon Eke was tortured to death by the Police Officers who was arrested by the Surveillance Team who arrested him.

he said the pictures of the bruises around the victim suggest alleged torture to death which is what has angered the youths, nothing that of course when things like this happen, miscreants use the opportunity to cause havoc and rob innocent residents.
We also Learnt that the Officer and the tenant has being arrested and presently detained at SCIID,PH. That was the cause of the protest as the Woji Youth became very angry on seeing videos and pictures of Nyebuchi corpse with injuries and bruises.

The protest we gathered  almost took  an ethnic dimension as the tenant who called the Police for late Nyebuchi Eke,(Ikwerre landlord)is an Ogoni Person .

But the situation was curtailed by the Police and traditional institution that pleaded with the Youth not to take laws into their hands

The Rivers state police command is yet to respond to the issue as text messages sent to the police PPRO is yet to be answered
