4 Dead, 25 Injured In Gbagyi Villa Communities As Gov El-Rufia Demolishes Over 40 Buildings

Residents Gbagyi villa  Community flees, deserted their homes to escape sporadic Gunshots as out going governor of Kaduna State El-Rufia demolition Friday
Reports says At least over 40 buildings have been affected at the close of Friday after the demolition exercise in Gbagyi villa in Sabon Tasha area of Chikun LGA of Kaduna state.

About a dozen of people, mostly youths were also reportedly shoot by the armed security operatives for attempting to resist the demolition, some of them were at the point of dead before taken to the nearest clinics.

Our correspondent who was a star witness reported that most of the buildings affected include churches, residents, schools and business properties erected close
to the wall of the fend of Kaduna polytechnic, at Gbagyi villa side of the community.

A building identified as residence of a retired army colonel and some few others were skipped and untouched during the exercise on Friday.

An eyewitness sources and residents of the community confirmed to our reporter that three security operatives in company of KASUPDA, were brutally shot seriously by some aggrieved youths in the community in an ambush.

Residents of the community were seen fleeing out of the community with their domestic properties in vehicle while some have had their own house demolished with their properties inside the buildings.

Some of the youth shot are said to be at the point of dead following the level of bullet injuries sustained during the the incident with security in company of KASUPDA.

Gunshots and tear gas were said to have continue to rent the air till end of the exercise, making it difficult to get close to the agency staff till end of the demolition.

At the time of filling this report, the community is still in state of unrest, with residents running for their lives due to the presence of armed military men to maintain law and order to avoid escalation.

Although, the armed military men told journalists that they were not there on any official engagement in comment with the demolition.

Sources said they were there to protect buildings belonging to senior military officer, some of which have already been reportedly affected.
The community leaders contacted refused to speak to journalists fear of been removed, even as the police spokesman of Kaduna state command Muhhamed Jalige could not picked calls or respond to SMS send to him.
