4 Powerful Iranian Top Leaders Feared Dead In Helicopter Crash

The helicopter reportedly crashed in “hard landing” around the village of Uzi in the forests of Arsbaran due to heavy fog.

Passengers on the helicopter include:

▪️Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan

▪️Ayatollah Al-Hashemi, Imam of Tabriz Mosque

▪️Governor of East Azerbaijan Province, Malik Rahmati

The helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and four others suffered a “hard landing” on Sunday, ABC News is reporting said Raisi was traveling in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province.

State TV said the incident happened near Jolfa, a city on the border with with the nation of Azerbaijan, some 600 kilometers (375 miles) northwest of the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Rescuers were attempting to reach the site, state TV said, but had been hampered by poor weather condition in the area. There had been heavy rain reported with some wind.

Raisi had been in Azerbaijan early Sunday to inaugurate a dam with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev. The dam is the third one that the two nations built on the Aras River.
