The Special Task Force for the Release of Maxi Nnamdi Kanu has been informed by sources within the DSS that barring any last minute change of plan, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuamyanwu will be visiting the detained leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra IPOB in Abuja on Thursday.
Scheduled to accompany Chief Iwuanyanwu on the visit on are members of the Special Task Force for the Release of Nnamdi Kanu.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu will among others ascertain the state of health of Nnamdi Kanu, welfare in captivity, security situation in Igboland, activities of legal team and the extent of political solution.
Some members of the Special Task Force expected to accompany Chief Iwuanyanwu to the DSS headquarters by 12 pm 30th May include Barrister Cappeo Emejulu Okpalaukwu (Leader Isi Ebube Agu Ndigbo) Rev Obinna Akukwe ( Director General Igbo Mandate Congress IMC)ย Igwe Uche Egent ( Chairman Ndieze in the 19 Northern States) Eze Ibe Nwosu (Ezeigbo of Abuja) Prince Emmanuel Kanu( youngest brother of Nnamdi Kanu) among others.
The members of the Special Task Force for the Release of Nnamdi Kanu include

The Special Task Force had earlier agreed with Chief Iwuamyanwu on the need to discuss with Mazi ย Nnamdi Kanu in DSS detention inย Owerri during the briefingย of 17th ofย May and heย promised to take actionsย immediately the Ohanaeze Ndigboย Youth Leaders andย Stakeholders Convention ends.
The Special Task Teamย also received signalsย from presidency sources that the second letter to President Tinubu dated May 21st , 2024ย appealing for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, is receiving attention and some responses has been given.
The Special Task Force asks the Igbo public, IPOB factions and splinter groups not to decorate the public space with bloodshed and violence, as these piles as evidences capable of truncating the ongoing political solution.
The Special Task Force is aware that some elements and dissidents within IPOB are in the habit ofย instigatingย crisis, bloodshed and sundry vices aimed atย truncating any effort towards a political solution , therefore keeping the IPOB leader in perpetualย detention.
The Task Force advises such personsย not to give IPOB further negative perception by unguarded utterances and thoughtless actions.
The Task Force appreciates the support Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwuย gives the group to ensure that Nnamdi Kanu is released.
