Gov Otti Visits144 Battalion Asa, Ukwa-west, Gives Full Scholarships To Children Of 5 Slain Soldiers

Abia state Governor Alex c. Otti was at 144 battalion Asa,Ukwa west to meet with the young widows of soldiers killed by yet to be identified gunmen

The Governor who was received on arrival by the commander of 14 brigade Ohafia, Brigadier General O.O Diya, restated his commitment in fishing out the criminals elements who carried out the killings as he commiserated with the widows of the killed soldiers

The Governor further assured them that Abia state has fully adopted them and will fend their welfare as he pledged full time scholarship for their children up to university level and also gifted them token

The deceased military officers were Sgt.Chalse Ugochkwu, Sgt Bala Abrabam, CPl Ugwu Gideon , LCPL Ikpeama Ikechukwu , LCPL Augustine Emanuel .

Speaking during the condolence visit which had the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emeruwa, and Senator Darlington Nwokocha, the governor assured families and wives of the deceased that the killers will be fished out to face the law.
Governor Otti says the state government will provide scholarships up to the university level for all the children of the Nigerian Army personnel killed.
Earlier, the Commander of 14 Brigade Ohafia, Nigeria Army, Brigadier General O. O. Diya said the military in collaboration with other security agencies will continue to work together to bring perpetrators to book.
