Unknown Gunmen Storms Ikwerre Community, Kills OSPAC Vigilante Member

Tragedy struck in Igwuruta community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers state on Wednesday night(10th July,2024) by unknown gunmen shot dead a member of ONELGA SECURITY PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTE(OSPAC) simply identified as Prince.

We learnt that the OSPAC members responded to a distress call about incident of kidnapping in the area when they were ambushed by the unknown gunmen who opened fire on the security personnel resulting to the death of the deceased.

The incident was said to have thrown the community into panic as residents scampered for safety. As at press time, the corpse of the deceased has been evacuated and taken to undisclosed mortuary.

The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident. SP Koko said investigation is underway.
