Labour Party Wins LGA Election Without Presenting Candidate In Bauchi Polls

The Labour Party won an election in the Bauchi LG election today without presenting a candidate.

LP in Bauchi State has achieved an unexpected triumph in the Bogoro councillorship election held in Lusa B Ward of Bogoro Local Government Area, astonishingly securing the highest number of votes despite the absence of a designated candidate.

As a result, the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) declared Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who narrowly claimed second place, as the winner and newly elected councillor representing Lusa B Ward.

At the collation centre in Bogoro, returning officer Daniel Gambo announced the results, revealing that the Labour Party, defying expectations without a candidate, had amassed an impressive 2,200 votes. Hot on their heels, PDP’s Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf trailed closely with 2,168 votes.

Rounding out the race, the candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mbam Masoyi, finished in a distant third with a mere 275 votes
