The Rivers State Police Command on Thursday 9th,January 2025, decorated forty Chief Superintendents of Police,CSPs who were promoted from rank of Superintendents of Police. Also decorated, were twenty-one Superintendents of Police, SPs who were promoted from rank of Deputy Superintendents of Police and fifty -eight Deputy Superintendents of Police,DSPs who were promoted from rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police were also decorated.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olugbenga Adepoju said is a great honour to welcome the guests to the occasion.
” We are decorating officers who have been promoted because of hardwork.I thank Inspector General of Police,IGP Kayode Egbetokun for recommending the officers,the Police Service Commission for making the promotion possible.
“To who much is given, much is expected.Today we decorated 40 CPS,21 SPs, 58 DSPs .Continue to work hard,you will be promoted and celebrated.You have to put yourself in your rank in your various areas.
“You have to be more serious.Supervise your junior well.Be good ambassadors of the Police and ensure zero tolerance for corruption.Avoid a situation where men working under you will be abusing human rights.Dress well.Ensure you employ community policing in where ever you find yourself.
“Know that the responsibility comes with punishment when you are not doing the right thing.Be more serious.I believe you will continue to be promoted as you do your job.You must lead by example.Your body language counts a lot.
“I congratulate and wish you well.I thank our well wishers who came from far and beyond to celebrate with us.
In his vote of thanks, Chief Superintendent of Police,CSP Orok Edet who is among the promotees, who spoke on behalf of others, thanked God for making the promotion possible. .
“I thank the IGP for recommending us for this promotion.I thank the Police Service Commission, Chairman for the promotion, Commissioner of Police Rivers and his Management team for their support.
“We promise to be on top of our job on this level of enviable rank and also do our job very well on supervisory role” CSP Edet said.
Our correspondent reports that Deputy Commissioner of Police Finance and Administration,DCP Samuel Erale, Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations,DCP Al-Hassan Kawu, Deputy Commissioner of Police State CIID,PortHarcourt,DCP Surajo Alhaji Lukeman, Captain A U Tijani,Naval Shipyard PortHarcourt, Chairman of PCRC,Voke Emore, Some Area Commanders,Divisional Police Officers (DPOs),Tactical units Commanders were all in attendance.
