The Rivers State government has officially announced that the much-anticipated Local Government Council Election will take place on the 9th of August, 2025.

Hon. Justice Adolphus Enebeli, the Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RISIEC), confirmed the date during a briefing, signaling the commencement of preparations for the upcoming election.
