Easter Message: Your Administration Has Worsened Nigeria Beyond Biblical Samaria -Pastor Bakare Knocks Tinubu

Fiery cleric Pastor Tunde Bakare has launched a scathing attack on President Bola Tinubu, accusing his administration of inflicting unprecedented hardship on Nigerians.

Tinubu’s government has caused more hardship in Nigeria than it was in Samaria, where parents had to resort to eating their children

In a sermon delivered on Sunday at the Citadel Global Community Church, Bakare compared the current state of Nigeria under Tinubu’s leadership to the biblical city of Samaria, where famine drove parents to eat their own children.

“Tinubu’s government has caused more hardship in Nigeria than it was in Samaria, where parents had to resort to eating their children,” Bakare stated, invoking the grim account from 2 Kings 6:25-29. He argued that the administration’s policies have plunged the nation into deeper economic despair, surpassing even the most desperate times recorded in scripture.

At the center of this political banditry is the motor park brand of politics practised by the old brigade politicians, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Bakare didn’t stop there. He accused Tinubu of perpetuating a flawed political system, declaring, “At the center of this political banditry is the motor park brand of politics practised by the old brigade politicians, including Bola Ahmed Tinubu.” The pastor criticized what he described as a crude, transactional style of governance, linking it to Nigeria’s ongoing struggles with poverty, inflation, and insecurity.

The remarks come amid growing public discontent over Tinubu’s economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and currency devaluation, which have driven up living costs. Bakare’s comments have ignited debate, with supporters hailing his outspokenness and critics questioning the appropriateness of his rhetoric.

The Presidency has not yet issued an official response to Bakare’s allegations. Since taking office in May 2023, Tinubu has defended his policies as painful but necessary steps toward economic recovery, though many Nigerians continue to feel the strain.
