Wike Denies Knowledge of Jonathan’s Alleged 2027 Presidential Ambition- Says PDP Is Dead

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims that former President Goodluck Jonathan plans to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Wike made this known on Friday during a media parley with journalists in Abuja while addressing questions about reports that Jonathan was being pressured to return to the presidential race.

“You’re the one telling me here. Jonathan has never told me; he has never called me one day,” Wike said.

He added that if Jonathan ever reached out to him for advice, he would be honest about his opinion.

“Look, if he calls me and asks me, I will be able to tell him my mind and what I feel. I will not assume anything just because people are writing it in the newspapers—just like when they said I was flown out of the country,” Wike stated.

The minister emphasised that he would not rely on rumours or media speculation to form conclusions about political matters.
