2025 Annul Celebrations: PCRC Chairman, Voke Emore Urge Youths To Shun ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ As Rivers CP Adepoju Says Rivers Is Safe

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police,CP Olugbenga Adepoju maintained that the state is safe and calm .

CP Adepoju made the disclosure during the 2025 annual celebration of Police Committe Relationship Community,PCRC on Thursday 20th November,2025 at Officer’s mess in Old GRA, PortHarcourt.

“Let me thank PCRC for what you do.All this achievement we are having,we cannot do it without PCRC.You have been very wonderful.Your support in all angle has led us to the place where we can say Rivers is safe and calm.

“Your interaction with other members of the community making them to know why they have to live with the Police.Your constant relationship and discussion with us has led us this far.

“We cannot do it without you.We don’t underestimate your support.Your logistics support is too numerous to mention.Your labour is not in vain. we will continue to reciprocate”,CP Adepoju said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of PCRC, in Rivers State, Ambassador Voke Emore has urged youth in the state to shun Internet fraud also known as ‘yahoo yahoo’ and other criminal activities.

Mr Emore made the disclosure why receiving award of exemplary leadership from the youth wing of PCRC led by their Coordinator, Ms. Confidence Woko.

“The future of the youth must be brighter.Let us continue to work hard.We cannot be among the yahoo yahoo boys.Our life style should be example to everyone else”,Mr Emore said.

Mr Emore also disclosed that the organization admitted eight-eight new members, revived inactive PCRC divisions and Area commands among other achievements in the year under review.

He commended CP Adepoju for his collaboration with the Rivers PCRC command.

Highpoints of the event was issuance of one million naira cheque by PCRC Rivers command to Police Officers Wives Association,POWA to support widows empowerment programme of wives of deceased Police officers, issuance of award to CP Adepoju by PCRC and other deserving recepients.

Representative of Beatrice Adepoju, Chairperson of POWA in Rivers and wife of CP Adepoju prayed that God will continue to strengthen PCRC in the state and their members will not die untimely.

The Annual event continues on Saturday 22nd, November,2025 with novelty football match between the security agencies in Rivers State at Polo club.
