Bus Drivers and Tricycle operators under the Ages of Commercial Driver Welfare Association plying the old portharcourt Aba Road Oyigbo to portharcourt, have staged a Peaceful protest in Oyigbo LGA demanding that Rivers State government repair the bad section of the Umundinor Junction Axis of old Port Harcourt Aba Road Oyigbo before the next Rainy Season.
They threatened that Commercial Drivers will stop paying tax to Rivers State Board of internal revenue if by the End of March 2026 the road is not repaired.
The drivers lamented that the terrible Condition of the road has affected them negatively as their vehicles are damaged daily due to the worsening Conditions of internal roads in Oyigbo LGA Especially Umundinor Junction Axis they use the medium to call on Oyigbo local Government Council Authority to commence remediation work on street roads in Oyigbo LGA Urban Center as grading of internal roads by the local Government will help reduce the suffering people are going through.
The State Chairman of Commercial Drivers Welfare Association Comrade Christopher Ezeali who spoke to our Newsmen described the conditions of the Umundinor Junction road as terrible and Unacceptable.
