Officials said the aircraft, carrying five persons, including two Malaysians, went down in a grassy area of a residential district at about 7:27 a.m.
Rizal provincial police officer, Ramjae Pangga, told AFP that two passengers, a Malaysian and a Filipino, lost their lives in the crash.
The mayor of Pililla, John Masinsin, confirmed that the pilot sustained critical injuries.
Masinsin, giving an update on the crash, stated, “They are now en route to a tertiary hospital in (Metro Manila), upon the request of their families.”
He commended the pilot for bringing the aircraft down in a residential area without causing additional casualties.
Pangga, in his statement, said the helicopter was forced into an emergency landing after experiencing engine trouble.
“The emergency landing had been forced because their engine was about to shut down,” he said.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has commenced an investigation into the cause of the crash.
