Acute Hunger: Woman Brings 5 Year Old Male Child For Sale In Rivers Market

There was confusion at Bishop Okoye street in Mile Market, Diobu as yet to be identified woman brought a five year old boy for sale whom she claimed is her child on Saturday 24th February,2024. Customers and traders surrounded the woman with amazement.

Nelson Tasie, former Vice Chairman of Goat Meat Sellers Association who witnessed the scene told our reporter on phone that the woman said life is very difficult for her and she can no longer take care of her self let alone the child that is why she opted to sell him.

Mr Tasie said since he was in a haste, he advised that the woman and the child should be taken to Nkpolu Police Division, Mile 3 Diobu so that the Police can wade into the matter.

The former Vice Chairman of Goat Meat Sellers Association disclosed that concerned traders and customers were taking the woman and her child to the Police station when he left the scene.

The Police was yet to respond officially to the incident.
