The quarter-final line-up for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 is now clearer following Algeria’s qualification after their Round of 16 victory over DR Congo on Tuesday.
Seven out of eight nations have already qualified for this round of the continent’s greatest tournament, PUNCH Online reports.
Algeria edged DR Congo 1–0 after extra time in Rabat, with substitute Anis Boulbina scoring the decisive goal in the 119th minute to seal their place in the last eight. The win sets up a quarter-final clash against Nigeria.
Nigeria had earlier secured their quarter-final ticket on Monday night with a convincing 4–0 win over Mozambique, as Victor Osimhen scored twice to send the Super Eagles through.
Senegal, Mali, hosts Morocco, Cameroon and Egypt had already booked their places in the quarter-finals, with only one Round of 16 fixture — Côte d’Ivoire vs Burkina Faso — left to determine the final quarter-final pairing.

The remaining quarter-final fixture will be confirmed after the conclusion of the Côte d’Ivoire vs Burkina Faso Round of 16 match.

The two goals for the defending champions were scored by Manchester United’s Amad Diallo in the 20th minute and Leipzig’s Yan Diomande in the 32nd minute of the first half.
