Aftermath of Flood: Anambra Govt Set To Begin Rehabilitation Of Damaged Roads In Anambra West

The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Ifeanyi Okoma has been mandated by the state government to commence the immediate rehabilitation of major roads in Anambra West Local Government Area damaged by recent flooding of the area.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Mr. Tony Nwabunwanne in a WhatsApp message to the people of the area.

The WhatsApp message reads, “good evening my dear brothers and sisters. I have just made a case at our exco meeting today about the state of our roads after the flooding and Mr. governor has graciously directed the commissioner for Works and Infrastructure to move in and ensure soonest that the roads were fixed.

“Solution is here, thanks to Mr. Governor, the rehabilitation of these roads was expected to enhance transportation and facilitate economic growth, restore connectivity and improve the quality of life of residents of Anambra West.”

Meanwhile, residents have praised the governor’s initiative to address the impact of the floods on the roads saying that it is a positive step aimed towards alleviating the suffering of the people.
