Anambra Police Arrest Killers Of President-General Of Umoja Community While Withdrawing Monies From Deceased Account

The killer of the Umuoji PG has been arrested

It has been confirmed that alleged killer of the PG of Umuoji Community is his former Ebonyi state tenant that he gave a quit notice

The PG, Mr Silas Gave his Tenant a quit notice because of his involvement with diabolism

The Tenant from Ebonyi State was arrested with the PG’s gun, phones and ATM card where he was withdrawing Money from the deceased account

Police Detectives of Anambra State Command working with Umuoji Vigilante, have apprehended the suspected killers of the town’s President-General, Chief Silas Onyima, who was murdered in his home at the weekend.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a Press release made available to journalists on Tuesday, 27th February, 2024.

He announced that four suspects have so far been arrested, and also informed that the handset and ATM Card of the deceased were recovered from them.

According to the PPRO, the suspects, in their confessions, named four other accomplices who are now being hunted for by the Police.

The PPRO further intimated that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, who was away in Ibadan on official assignment for the opening ceremony of the 14th Biennial Police Games, rushed back home when the news of the murder broke to coordinate Police effort at unravelling the crime.

He said the CP who commended the Police in Ogidi and Umuoji Vigilante for working together to apprehend the suspected perpetrators, has directed State Criminal Investigation Department to deploy its Forensic Team to scene of crime and take over the investigation.

Ikenga further hinted that the CP mandated the Homicide Team in State CID to apprehend the four accomplices still on the run and unravel the motive behind the gruesome crime.

The CP, in the release said, also assured Presidents-General across the State that their safety is of primary concern to the Police as they represent their people in governance by their town Unions.

The release read:
