Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice ensured the Gunners continued their unbeaten run to 12 games in all competitions, while also keeping a seventh consecutive clean sheet.
Arsenal opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Gyokeres headed home from close range after Gabriel Magalhaes flicked the ball back across goal from a corner. The goal marked Gyokeres’ sixth of the season.

The visitors doubled their lead in the 35th minute following a swift counter-attack. Gyokeres delivered a precise cross-field pass to Leandro Trossard, who lifted a cross into the box for Declan Rice to head past Burnley goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
Arsenal controlled the game from then on, limiting Burnley’s chances and comfortably maintaining possession. Substitute Marcus Edwards came close to adding a third late on when his free-kick struck the post in stoppage time.
The result means Mikel Arteta’s side have now won nine consecutive matches in all competitions and remain seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Burnley, meanwhile, struggled to threaten throughout the match and remain near the bottom of the standings as their difficult start to the season continues.
