Barau FC player, Nana Abraham has broken silence, clarifying reports surrounding an incident at Katsina United’s stadium, insisting that he was injured by thrown objects rather than stabbing as widely reported
In a video statement, Abraham said;
“It was during the course of the match, when we equalized our goal, the fans of Katsina United started throwing objects towards our bench. One of them hit my chest and lower shin, and that’s when I saw blood. That’s what happened, not a slitted throat.”
The incident had occurred shortly after Barau FC scored an equalizer in their Nigeria Premier Football League clash. Initial reports claimed that Abraham had been attacked more severely, as he was seen on the ground with severe injury around his neck region. but the player’s account contradicts those narratives.
Katsina United officials have also denied that any supporter invaded the pitch or directly assaulted Abraham, calling earlier reports “misleading.
