The crisis rocking the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a new dimension on Monday as the sacked National Secretary. Samuel Anyanwu stormed the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja, declaring himself the authentic national scribe of the party.
Before his arrival at about 10;56am, hundreds of his supporters had taken over the party’s secretariat chanting solidarity songs in support of the embattled National Secretary. They also carried banners with different inscriptions clearly declaring their support for Anyanwu.
Upon arrival, Anyanwu had headed straight for his office where he was received by his personal staff. He also took part in a session of prayers before sprinkling anointing oil around the office.
Speaking to newsmen while sitting at his desk, Anyanwu dismissed a statement credited to the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba that he had seized to the secretary. PDP Crisis Deepens as Anyanwu Invades Party Headquarters, Resumes Office
Ologunagba had confirmed to reporters that the party had received the Appeal Court judgment recognizing Sunday Udeokoye as National Secretary.
