According to Ejimakor, one of his colleagues identified as Barr. Mandela Umegborogu was informed of the development when he visited Kanu at the DSS headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.

The tweet reads, “Today, my colleague, Barr Mandela Umegborogu visited Onyendu #MNK at the DSS.

“He informs that Onyendu directed me to make it public that the DSS Medical Unit has recommended urgent ear SURGERY for him. “But what remains is the formal approval of the DSS leadership.”

Ozekhome expressed fear over his client’s state of health during the hearing of the IPOB leader’s case.

He told the court that Kanu was sick in DSS custody and required an immediate surgical operation.
