The Enugu State Government has directed all former state executive appointees whose appointments have either been terminated or expired to return official and diplomatic passports previously issued to them.
Secretary to the State Government at the Government House, Enugu, on or before Friday, September 5, 2025, for onward transmission to the NIS Enugu Command.
“This exercise is a matter of national protocol and strict compliance with immigration regulations, and it must be treated with utmost urgency,” Prof. Onyia stated.
He added that the cooperation of all affected persons is required to ensure a seamless process. “Your full cooperation is respectfully solicited to ensure a smooth and seamless process,” the SSG said.
The directive underscores the federal government’s enforcement of passport retrieval protocols for ex-government officials, a move aimed at strengthening accountability and proper use of travel documents.
