Four suspected Cultist Identified as members of Deygbam Cult groups were killed in a gun battle with operatives of Rivers State Police command at Ndele community, Emohua LGA on Friday June 2,2023.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt Commissioner of Police, Rivers Command CP Nwonyi Emeka said the suspects were among gang of Deygbam cultists that invaded Ndele community On 30 May where they killed and beheaded four persons in a surprise attack, that claimed lives of OSPAC Vigilante group that fateful day
CP Emeka said, operatives at Rumuji Police Division with support from vigilante partners acting on credible intelligence confronted the cultists and in an ensuing gun battle, some of the suspects including Chinomezi, aka Nickaaro the Armourer and Chinza Orji Okunna, aka Okosa were gunned down.
CP Emeka said on June 2,2023,the Deygbam cultists invaded Ndele community. He said personnel of Rumuji Police Division and local Vigilance group acting on credible intelligence intercepted the cultists and in exchange of gun fire the four cultist were killed
CP Emeka disclosed that four of the killed cultists participated in the killing and beheading of four persons in the community on 30th,May,2023.
CP Emeka listed exhibits recovered as 2 pump action guns, one locally made gun and empty cartridge’s of AK 47. Recall that in his maiden briefing with Journalist The CP promised to tackle all manner of crime and criminality.
The Rivers Police Boss promised to maintain the existing peace while soliciting for support and information from members of the public.
