A tragic incident occurred around 8:00 pm yesterday at a lodge near Royal Kitchen junction, close to Nnamdi Azikiwe University’s gate in Awka, Anambra State.
A male student of the university jumped from a three-storey building and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
According to residents, the student had consumed hard drugs (MKPURIMIRI) before the incident.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud noise and found the victim’s body lying in a pool of blood.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the student’s roommate was also under the influence of the same substances, as he was found in an incoherent state in their room.
The roommate is currently in police custody and will be questioned once he stabilizes.
The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed, pending notification of his family.
Authorities are working to reach the family while investigations into the incident continue.
