The National Leader Igbo bu Igbo South East Forum and financier Henry Marshall Foundation, High Chief Henry Uzozie, has condemned in strong terms the callous killing of military officers in Aba Abia State recently by unknown gunmen.
He gave this condemnation recently in Aba the Abia State capital where he went for on -the-spot assessment of the situation. He said that the military officers are Nigerians by blood who are trained to safeguard the sovereignty of the nation and should not be massacred in such manner.
The presence of military officers create relative peace in areas engulfed with crisis and as such they should not be murdered in cold blood unnecessarily for no just cause.
Chief Uzozie urged Abia State government to ensure that perpetrators of the heinous crime on the military officers must be brought to book and justice adequately served in line with the law of the land.
While sympathizing with the families of the fallen soldiers, the National Leader prayed for the repose of their souls, adding that bringing the criminals to justice would serve as deterrent to others who would want to perpetrate such act in future.
He also urge the military authorities to liaise with Abia State government to find a lasting solution to the dented military -civilian relationship in the South East region.
