Imo State Police Dismantles Notorious Armed Robbery Syndicate Terrorizing Residents Of Owerri Norths

Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have dismantled a notorious armed robbery syndicate terrorizing the residents of Owerri North LGA of Imo State.

According to a statement by the public relations Officer of the state command,ASP Okoye Henry,this breakthrough is a result of enhanced security measures initiated by Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, targeting violent crimes, especially at night.

The statement reads “On October 15, 2024, at approximately 3:20 AM, a patrol team from the Owerri North Divisional Headquarters responded swiftly to a distress call about an armed robbery on Dominion Street near Don Kay, in Owerri North LGA. Upon arrival, the police encountered armed robbers who opened fire on them. The officers, demonstrating bravery, maneuvered into strategic positions and effectively returned fire

During the confrontation, one suspect was neutralized, while another named, Moses Nanzi ‘m’, 31yrs of Faringada in Plateau State sustained a gunshot injury and was arrested. The remaining gang members fled into the bushes. A double-barrel gun and seven rounds of live cartridges were recovered from the arrested suspect”.“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects. The suspect will certainly face prosecution upon completion of a thorough investigation.
