Iran has reportedly launched a fresh barrage of ballistic missiles toward Israel, with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowing that the “punishment” of Israel will continue.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Monday morning that it detected the new wave of missile attacks from Iran.
It urged residents to move to shelters and safe zones, assuring the public that defense systems are actively working to intercept the threat.
“The defense systems are working to intercept the threat,” the IDF said in a statement posted on X.
The latest assault comes as violence between Iran and Israel continues to spiral, fueling fears of a full-scale regional conflict.
In a televised address, Khamenei doubled down on Iran’s aggressive stance, accusing Israel of major crimes and promising more retaliation.
“The Zionist enemy has made a grave mistake, committed a great crime; it must be punished and is being punished right now, Khamenei declared.
Notably, the Iranian leader made no direct mention of the United States or President Donald Trump in his remarks, focusing entirely on Israel, despite Washington’s growing involvement in the crisis.
