Joint Security Team Arrest 8 Suspected Kidnappers, Thwart Pipeline Vandalisation, Recover Assorted Weapons In Rivers

Joint Security team comprising of the Police and the Military has voided vandalization of pipeline at Aluu and Rumukpe in Ikwere and Emohua Local Governments Area of Rivers State respectively and rescued six kidnap victims in ONELGA.

The joint Security team comprising of the Police,Nigeria Navy Nigeria Army,Nigeria Airforce,Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,State Security Service made the disclosure in a press briefing on Tuesday 25th March,2025.

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers,CP Olugbenga Adepoju who read out the text of the press briefing said since the declararion of state of emergency in Rivers state,all the security agencies has been working as a team to ensure safety of lives and property.

CP Adepoju commended the joint patro teaml for diligently executed their mandate to support the mandate for state of emergency in Rivers.

CP Adepoju said the Joint Security Team.thwarted atempt by miscreants to vandalize pipeline which led to death of vandals at Aluu and Rumukpe.

TThe Rivers Police Chief disclosed that along Omoku road in ONELGA eight male suspects were arrested,six victims rescued.
He said two pump action guns,two locally pistols,4 local single barrel guns, assorted ammunitions and two motorcycles were recovered from the hoodlums

The Rivers Police helmsman disclosed that another case of criminal targettting pipeline was voided in ONELGA on 16th March as a suspect was arrested, four dynamites, communication equipment were recovered.

He said the Joint security team in the period under review destroyed over 30 illegal refining sites, impounded thousands litres of AGO.

CP Adepoju urged members of the public to provide security agencies with information comcerinig activities of criminals.

“The safery of our emvironment is paramount to foster business growth.
We remain resolute in maintaining law and order.

“We are fully prepared to carryout our responsibility with diligence.We have improved deployment of security operatives to curtail Movement of criminals and illicit materials.

“A targeted enforcement will commence to impound unregistered number plate,because such issue can jeopardize security.
“The Rivers Police Command will work in collaboration with other agencies to ensure peace and safety in the state” CP Adepoju said.

The Rivers CP urged parents to warn their children against sabotage and criminal conduct.
