May Edochie’s Divorce Suit Against Yul Edochie Suffers Setback As Her Lawyer Withdraws From Court Representation

May Edochie’s legal troubles have taken a new turn as her lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, officially announced his withdrawal from representing her in the high‑profile marital dispute with her estranged husband, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie.

Ugwuonye, founder of Due Process Advocates (DPA), said the decision was compelled by what he described as relentless hostility from those who were supposed to be on May’s side.

In a strongly worded statement, he said:
“The persistent bullying and trolling originating from Queen May’s presumed supporters present a severe operational and ethical challenge for DPA and our staff.”

According to him, the toxic environment created by some of May’s fans was even worse than what his team had experienced from Yul Edochie’s supporters.
“My staff have suffered abuse from May’s camp, worse than what we have ever experienced from Yul’s side,” Ugwuonye lamented.

The lawyer explained that such hostility made it impossible to continue providing effective representation in the ongoing legal battle.

He further revealed that he would be taking action against one of the prominent online figures fueling the attacks, vowing to hold accountable those behind the cyberbullying.

Ugwuonye’s resignation has sent shockwaves through supporters following the public feud, raising fresh questions about the role of social media and fan culture in sensitive legal disputes.
