The Solid Miners left off their grip on the summit of the Nigeria Premier Football League table after losing 1-0 away to Rivers United in Port-Harcourt on match-day eleven on Sunday afternoon.
Zachariah Timothy netted the only goal of the fierce encounter at the nick of breakpoint, condemning Nasarawa United to their second consecutive defeats within the space of two weeks, and third loss since the 2025/26 NPFL campaign began.
Sunday’s result saw the Solid Miners, who had the presence of the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu to cheer them, slip to second position on the league table with nineteen points, two points behind Abia Warriors who won away against hosts, Niger Tornadoes in Minna.
Nasarawa United have, however, played fewer number of games, with an outstanding match-day ten tie against visiting Remo Stars on Thursday, 5th November, 2025, at the Lafia City Stadium, before also hosting Kwara United on match-day twelve in Lafia.
Following the win, Rivers United moved up to 8th position on the league table with sixteen points from nine matches.
