Ned Nwoko Given 48 Hours To Accept Regina Daniels’ Bride Price

Family members of actress Regina Daniels from Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State have given her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, 48 hours to accept the bride price paid for her. They also asked him to stop what they described as harassment of her relatives.

In an open letter signed by Favour Awele Obi on behalf of the community, they accused Ned of ignoring their culture and using his power against Regina’s family. With due respect to your office and person, we must express deep disappointment over your recent actions concerning our sister and her family. As a people, we value peace, fairness, and respect for our cultural traditions,” the letter read in part.

The group explained that in Ogwashi-Uku tradition, marriage is not forced. If a woman chooses to leave, her family must return the bride price. They said Regina’s family tried many times to do this, but Ned refused to accept it.

They noted that if he continues to reject the bride price, “the bride price would be deposited at Ikeleke Quarter in Ogwashi-Uku,” which would mean the marriage has ended according to their customs.
