The Managing Director and CEO of B.G. Technical Ltd Engr. Chief Geoffrey Onuoha, hosted the Chairman Nigeria Society of Engineers Port Harcourt Branch Engr. Idaeresoari Harriet Ateke and a team of selected Executive Committee Members and past chairmen, elders and members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Port Harcourt branch at the Company’s corporate Headquarters in Port Harcourt. The gathering marked a significant step towards fostering collaboration between NSE and the B.G. Technical in shaping sustainable engineering and professional policies crucial for Nigeria’s future development.
The MD/CEO who was represented by the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Udoka Onuoha welcomed the NSE delegation to the corporate headquarters of the company, emphasizing the pivotal role of collaboration between NSE and B.G. Technical Ltd in driving sustainable engineering and professional initiatives. He reaffirmed the company’s unwavering commitment and support towards this partnership, highlighting the importance of working together to achieve common goals.

In her address, Engr. Idaeresoari Harriet Ateke, the Chairman of the NSE Port Harcourt branch said, “Let me first and foremost congratulate you for your numerous strive of endeavours and growth accomplished over the years in the field of engineering. Your exemplary leadership and strategic vision have led B.G. Technical Limited, to become the only indigenous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Inline Inspection Company through the successful procurement of an Inline Inspection Tool.” In continuation, she said, “Your foresight in acquiring this cutting-edge technology has significantly elevated the capabilities in pipeline inspection and integrity management. This milestone achievement not only distinguishes B.G. Technical Limited in the industry but also underscores your commitment to innovation and excellence. By the acquisition of this tool, you have established B.G. Technical Limited as the sole indigenous provider of this critical technology and positioned B.G. Technical Limited, as a leader in the market in Nigeria and which will provide unparalleled services and expertise in Pipeline integrity management in the areas of pipeline Commissioning, Decommissioning and Inspection Services. We know this strategic move will enhance more opportunities for growth and collaboration with the oil sectors if well advertised” We are even excited that BGT’ produces foam pigs for Pipeline cleaning, there by providing employment for our Engineers.
Engr. Harriet who was accompanied by some student engineers stated that the visit shows the importance placed on collaboration and partnership between the industries and the Nigerian Society of Engineers. She said that as part of the objectives for its establishment, the Nigerian Society of Engineers is committed to focusing on collaboration with, as well as influencing and providing quality advice to the various arms of the government, Commerce and Industry sector players, the Academia and the society at large. It is in pursuant of that collaborative mandate that the team visited, according the visit utmost importance and therefore, regard it as a window to a refreshing symbiotic relationship.
As regards local content creation, the NSE Port Harcourt branch places a strong emphasis on promoting local content and talent. The development of local content is a key priority for the engineering sector in Nigeria. The chairman therefore, hailed the B.G. Technical Limited whose products and services are locally produced.
She requested the management of B.G Technical Limited to provide internship and industrial training attachments space for student members through the NSE Port Harcourt as one of the key areas of interest is internship and industrial attachments for graduates and student members. She urged the company to sponsor some graduate and students for the current training programme organized by the branch. Meanwhile, as the Annual General Meeting (AGM) approaches, she encouraged company members to participate in the upcoming AGM in Abuja by paying their branch and national dues. She also extended a hand of partnership to B.G. Technical Limited in the following areas of: Manpower Development and Training, Professional Engineering Efficiency Solutions, Research and Development Collaboration.
The MD/CEO Engr. Chief Geoffrey Onuoha in his remarks as represented by the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Udoka Onuoha expressed his eagerness to participate in the upcoming conference and pledged support and sponsorship where necessary, underscoring the Company’s dedication to advancing engineering excellence.
He stated that BGT’ has engineers working with them to provide global pipeline integrity management services. Notable among them is the facilitator of this visit, Engr. Dr. Izionworu Vincent Onuegbu (FNSE), a Senior Lecturer at Rivers State University, and Consulting Coordinator of BGT’s Quality Assurance /Quality Control. He confirmed that all Engineers working with BGT play very important roles in the BGT success stories.
He reiterated the Company’s mandate to promote sustainable practices and upscale renewable professional engineering efforts. Emphasizing the urgency of individual registration and membership of the society, he emphasized the necessity of collaboration to achieve these ambitious goals.
