This was disclosed during the Congress of Okun Journalists Forum held at their Secretariat on Sunday.
The Forum, consists of practicing Journalists of Okun extraction of Kogi State indigene, based in Kaduna.
The commendation by the Forum came barely one year since the Governor assumed office on 27 January 2024, after a visit to the State capital and other parts of the State by the Chairman of the Forum, Chief Olu Ajayi of Vanguard Newspaper.
He said ” upon assuming office on 27 January 2024, the State has witnessed significant changes and progress under the present administration led by Gov Usman Ododo ”
According to him, Governor Usman Ododo has made a significant progress building on his predecessor efforts particularly on the areas of human and infrastructural development, adding that he was the first State governor to approve ~N~72,500:00 as minimum wage for civil servants in the State, above the Federal Government N70,000 minimum wage approval.
The Forum further applauded the Governor on some of his achievements particularly the successful conduct of the last local government election in the State without any rancor or crisis, and in the areas of security, agricultural, education and health sector.
Okun Journalists Forum also Congratulated the Governor on his occasion of one year in office, therefore wished him a successful tenor as the governor of the State.
In the same vein, the Forum also appreciated the former governor of the State, His Excellency. Yahaya Bello for establishing the Kogi State University, Kabba, in Okunland

It is often said that when one receives commendations and appreciations it should serve as a further call to more dedication and greater achievements. We believe the governor shall not rest on his oars to exceed peoples expectations of better performance. Hearty congratulations his Excellency
