The 98th Annual Academy Awards took place on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, celebrating the best films released in 2025. Hosted for the second consecutive year by Conan O’Brien, the ceremony lasted nearly four hours and was broadcast on ABC and streamed on Hulu.

Warner Bros. productions One Battle After Another and Sinners dominated the night. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, One Battle After Another won six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. The political thriller stars Leonardo DiCaprio as an ex-radical caught in a high-stakes chase. Anderson received his first Oscars after 14 previous nominations, becoming the ninth person in Academy history to win Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay in a single night. The film also won Best Film Editing and Best Casting.

Despite entering the ceremony with a record-breaking 16 nominations, the film won fewer awards than anticipated but achieved historic milestones. Cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw became the first woman to win Best Cinematography for Sinners and the first woman of colour nominated in the category.
