One Shot Dead As Gang War Erupts In Mile2 and Mile 3 Axis of Diobu Portharcourt

Gang war seem to have erupted in Mile2 and Mile 3 axis of Diobu as one person was shot dead at Nanka/Lumuber street Mile 1 Diobu at about 9:20pm on Thursday night (14 March,2024) we learnt.

We gathered that about four gunmen had trailed the deceased to where he went to purchase noodles when he was shot at the head immediately he left the shop where he went to buy the food item.

The incident resulted to pandemonium as people scampered for safety. The corpse of the yet to be identified man was later evacuated by the Police .

Sources in the area told our reporter the shooting incident is connected to intra fighting between two factions of Deygbam cult groups for territorial control of an illegal business cite in the area

Police Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident .SP Koko said “we are aware of the incident. Investigation has commenced with a view to apprehending the killers”.
