The Oyo State Government on Friday raised the alarm over allegations that some pensioners are being extorted by individuals posing as government officials in the course of processing gratuity payments.
The Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, disclosed this in a press release made available to journalists
Dotun Oyelade stated that the state government is exercising due diligence in the payment of gratuities to retirees, noting that the current administration has improved the process compared to previous governments.
He revealed that with the new monthly allocation, more than 800 retirees now benefit every month, as against about 250 beneficiaries in previous years
