The Rivers State Police command has confirmed the death of father of six who was shot by a trigger happy police officer

The police Public Relations Officer Grace Iringe-Koko in text message confirmed that the officer has been arrested and detained by the command for proper investigation and discipline.

Recall that Earlier in the day a Federal road was shut down by the youths who threatened to burn down the police station over the death of a youth Leader in the community.

circumstances leading to the shooting has not been made clear to our correspondent as the police PPRO in a cript message  “The command is aware Of the incident, and the CP is on top of the situation. Normalcy has now been restored, and adequate security is present on ground to prevent any breach of peace.”

“The corpse has been deposited at the morgue while the police officers has been detained as investigation is ongoing please”
