Rivers State Police Command has arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt, two out of four police officers who were dismissed over the killing of a twenty two year old ANTHONY OBODO who was shot dead on the 27th of August, 2026 around by Ada George junction in Port Harcourt.
Those arraigned on remand warrant are Corporal ALFRED LOUIS and PC MICHAEL EJEKWU leaving behind ASP FABΙΑΝ ΚΡΕΑΝΑBARI and Inspector SOLOMON NWROGU who is still at large.
When the case was mentioned, the trial Chief Magistrate, HELEN HARDY did not allow the charge to be read and no plea was taken but ordered that the accused should be remanded in Port Harcourt correctional centre.
Chief Magistrate HARDY directed that the case filed should be referred to Chief registrar for reassignment and adjourned till 22nd of September for plea ans possible trial.
Speaking to newsmen out the courtroom, the Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association Port Harcourt, CHINEDU MADUBA expressed displeasure over the arraignment of two police officers instead of four that was dismissed.
