Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command announced on Tuesday that they have arrested Kehinde Yemitan, a suspect in a murder and ritualistic crime, at his hideout in the Ilogbo Ota community.

Kehinde’s twin brother, Taiwo, had previously been apprehended on December 22, along with an accomplice named Kazeem, for the alleged murder and dismemberment of a commercial sex worker named Darasimi.

According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the victim was lured to the suspects’ residence in Abeokuta before her tragic demise.

Odutola elaborated, “Having been identified as an accomplice in this heinous crime, Kehinde became the target of a police surveillance operation, conducted in conjunction with the So Safe Corps, after intelligence pinpointed his location on Monday.”

The police’s manhunt for Kehinde intensified on December 30, 2024, around 5 p.m., when the Divisional Police Officer of Sango Otta received a tip-off from a community informant about Kehinde’s whereabouts in Ilogbo.

The police had launched an investigation following the arrest of his twin brother Taiwo and Kazeem on December 22, 2024, at approximately 1 p.m. The duo had reportedly lured Darasimi, a night worker in Abeokuta, to their home for the purpose of ritualistic sacrifice.

During questioning, he confessed to conspiring with others in the crime. Numerous community members corroborated his involvement in illicit activities.

Kehinde has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a more thorough investigation.

In light of this incident, Odutola appealed to young women to steer clear of casual relationships for financial gain, often referred to as “hookups,” emphasizing the inherent risks associated with such arrangements.
