Police Confirms Arrest Of Officers In Viral Video, Assaulting A Port Harcourt Driver

Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the arrest and detention of officers involved in the assault of a citizen, as captured in a viral video circulating on social media.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the officers have been taken into custody and are currently facing disciplinary action. She further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police (CP) has ordered a full-scale investigation into the incident and has assigned the CP Monitoring Team to handle the matter

.Recall that the victim alleged he was brutally assaulted by the officers after refusing to pay the sum of ₦1 million demanded from him over an expired tinted permit.

SP Iringe-Koko assured members of the public that the Command remains committed to upholding professionalism and accountability in policing, stressing that the outcome of the investigation will be made public in due course
